Since 2010
The San Antonio Eye Institute opened its doors in January 2010 on Huebner Road. After 10 years, the clinic moved to a larger space on Lockhill-Selma Road in February 2020. One month later, the world was rocked by the COVID-19 pandemic. We continued to serve our patients through the pandemic and took care of patients from other clinics that closed during the pandemic. Our team is dedicated to the delivery of high-quality care.
The Doctors
Our doctors are Board-Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Jones completed a Clinical Fellowship in Glaucoma & Dr. Triana completed a Research Fellowship in Glaucoma Genetics at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary, the Harvard Medical School’s Ophthalmology Program (Ranked #4 in the United States by U.S. News & World Reports)
Relief Jones, III, M.D.
Dr. Jones graduated from Stanford University (with Honors) and the Duke University School of Medicine.
He completed an Internship at Tulane University, Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio, and Fellowships at the Harvard Medical School in Glaucoma (Clinical) and Immunology (Research).
Maria Isabel Triana, M.D.
Dr. Triana completed her medical studies, Internship and Residency in Ophthalmology at Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia. She practiced there before moving to the U.S.
To practice in the U.S. she completed an Internship in Internal Medicine and Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio. She has also completed a Research Fellowship in Glaucoma Genetics at the Harvard Medical School.
The Staff
Our staff are some of the nicest people you will meet. Prior to working at our clinic, they have worked in other ophthalmology clinics, dermatology clinics, and have worked with health care providers in the public school system. We blessed to have such positive, focused, and dedicated individuals working with us.
Cecilia Grajales
Ceci is originally from Lytle, Texas and graduated from Lytle ISD. She completed an Associates in Accounting from Hallmark College. She's worked with us since 2018. Prior to that, she worked as the High School Receptionist and in Administration for Fredericksburg ISD and as the Secretary to the Director of Special Education for Lytle ISD. She's lived in San Antonio since 2014. She's been married with her husband Jorge since 2015. They have 4 kids, Erick, Ethan, Camilla and Catalina. In her free time, she enjoys attending the kid's sporting events, horticulture, and being outside.
Priscilla Casares
Priscilla is originally from Boerne, Texas and graduated from Boerne High School. She completed the Cosmetology Program at Nuvani Institute and became licensed in 2018. She's worked in the medical field in various fields including Dermatology, Endocrinology, and Family Counseling prior to venturing into Ophthalmology. She's had roles that span from Sales, Maintenance, and Administration. She's married to Albert and they have a daughter named Kiah. In her free time, she loves to workout, fish, craft, travel, and try different sports. She also enjoys trying different kinds of restaurants, but especially likes seafood, bbq, Mexican and Italian food.
Sierra Rodriquez
Sierra is originally from San Angelo, Texas and graduated from Lakeview High School. She completed the Medical Assistant Program at Howard College and is currently working on a Bachelor's in Science degree from Texas Tech. She's worked in the medical field for 6 years with jobs ranging from Patient Coordinator to being a Medical Technician. She's lived in San Antonio since 2020 and plans to plant roots in the city with her partner of 4 years, Dario. They have 2 energetic pups, Comet Ollie and Nova Kane. In her free time, she loves outdoor adventures and staying active with the pups at local parks and trails. She also enjoys game nights and trying new restaurants with Dario.
Lynda Rae Villegas
Lynda is originally from Cheyenne, Wyoming and graduated from Central High School in San Angelo, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2017 from The University of Texas at San Antonio. She is also a Certified Nurse Aide and has worked in several geriatric facilities since 2014. Lynda is an “Air Force brat,” and has travelled all over the world including Tokyo, Venice, Manila, and London. She’s been with her partner, RJ for 7 years and they have a beautiful daughter, Adalee and two fluffy pups, Cash and Biko. She’s lived in San Antonio for 10 years, and enjoys playing video games and watching anime at home in her free time.
