Ocular Emergencies | After Hours
Please call our office immediately at (210) 485-1488 if you have a serious problem with your eyes or suspect a possible emergency. If you are having a life threatening emergency, please call 911.
Ocular symptoms that require prompt attention include sudden loss of vision, seeing flashes of light or a curtain shade blocking your vision, unusual light sensitivity, extreme pain, and/or redness of the eye(s).
During clinic hours, we will work you into our clinic the same day.
If you call after regular business hours on a weekday, you will be given a direct phone number to contact our doctors after hours. If it is a Friday afternoon, Saturday, or Sunday, you will be provided with the telephone number of the on-call doctor for our call group.
Please Note: After hours call is for EXISTING patients of our practice. If you are a NEW patient to our practice or call group, we recommend the University Health Science Center at San Antonio’s Emergency Room (the only ER with access to a complete ophthalmology department in the city). The phone number is (210) 743-0024.
